Getting Started
What is RiC?
Records in Contexts (RiC) is the new international standard for archival description, developed by the International Council on Archives (ICA). It replaces the traditional standards (ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), ISDF, ISDIAH) with a unified, graph-based model.
Why RiC in AtoM/Heratio?
- Richer relationships: Model complex connections between records, creators, and subjects
- Linked data: Publish archival data as RDF for interoperability
- Graph visualization: See relationships visually in the RiC Explorer
- SPARQL queries: Advanced search across the entire archival graph
Quick Start
- Go to Admin → RiC Dashboard
- Configure your Fuseki connection in Configuration
- Click Sync to Fuseki to populate the triplestore
- Open the RiC Explorer to visualize relationships
- Use Semantic Search to query across the graph (coming soon - currently in development)
